Most of the time I take pictures of garden stuff. But sometimes, when there are three giant inflatable eyeballs running on the Veterans Stadium Field in Cedar Rapids, I take pictures of that. Because, really, who wouldn’t?
So, welcome, folks who are making their way here from Deadspin. Feel free to stop in and stay awhile, even if you think you might not like gardening. I didn’t like gardening, after all, and look what happened to me.
However, if you are only here for the sports, I must direct you to my series about Kevin Costner and The Field of Dreams (He played with his band, and really should have stuck to baseball…), as well as some goofy photos of last year’s Iowa-Iowa State game. Because really, I do try to have a little something for everyone here at The Inadvertent Gardener.

Ya know I’m really not into sports at all, BUT, I do take my two boys to the minor league games here because, like your minor league games, they have really strange events and goofy contests to keep even the non-sports enthusiast amused. Not to mention the half priced beer when our team scores and great BBQ.
Those eyeballs are weird.

Chigiy, if you would just come out to Cedar Rapids and hang with me, you’d be able to have all the bigger eyeballs you want. Or, well, three of them. I would totally take you AND the boys to a game.
Man, isn’t Iowa the greatest? This is taking sports to a whole new level!
