One dot in Iowa

Now, I know for a fact that I am not the only gardening blog in Iowa. Heck, I’m not even the only garden blog in Iowa City. But according to the new garden blog directory over at Gardening Tips ‘n’ Ideas, right now, but to my knowledge, I’m the only dot in my state. Hopefully that’ll change as more gardeners hear about this great feature and go register to be part of it.

Stuart, who gardens in Australia (lucky, lucky, getting-summer-right-now Stuart), put together this latest and greatest tool for gardeners looking for fellow dirt diggers online. You can click through to your region (or another region, if you’re so inclined) to see who’s out there blogging about their gardens, and can even search the blogs listed in the directory.

There are plenty of blog directories out there, some of which are even specifically for gardeners. But Stuart’s got the lock on the map concept. I enjoyed getting a sneak peak as one of Stuart’s beta testers, and am really excited to see it live and kicking. Congrats, Stuart, and thanks for putting it together!

Hey! Thanks for that link – I never knew such a thing existed. Now I can fill out my RSS – Gardens feeds. Great post.

P.S. How was the garden show? Learn anything? Gonna post about it?

Sally, Stuart’s definitely done a great thing with this directory — I can’t wait to see how it fills out as more garden bloggers sign up. As for the garden conference, it’s not until February 24, but I’ll definitely post about it once I’ve been.

I am commenting right now when I know you are enjoying a great book read. I only mention this because I would rather be there now. :) You are not the only dot in Iowa now though. I am less than an hour from Iowa City, so the dots will be pretty close.

Dori, I wish you could have been there — Amy’s talk was really fantastic! I’ll be posting about it later this week. I’m glad you added your dot to the map — and I didn’t realize you were so close to I.C. — glad to know that!
